02 | CARLETON U. RESEARCH REVIEW

OVERVIEW
The Research Review publication was created to showcase researchers and research projects within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Carleton University. Highlighting research accomplishments and future goals the publication focuses on 4 central themes of Identities, Communities & Social Justice, Mental Health & the Mind, Sustainable Futures, and Creative Expression.
THE CHALLENGE
When tasked with designing text focused publications, the challenge becomes how to do justice to well-written articles that are worth the read. How do we make it engaging, polished, cohesive, and stay within the constraints of an established brand identity? How do we make it reflect the integrity of FASS?
RESULTS & IMPACT
The final publication resulted in an experience that balanced clarity, sophistication, and brand consistency. By treating imagery and clean grid layout with typographic contrast as core storytelling tools, the design brought greater attention to the strength of the written content while reinforcing credibility and integrity.
